Day 1 Arrival at Mumbai
After arrival at the International Mumbai Airport, you will be transferred to the hotel. Mumbai is the financial capital of India and with around 21 million inhabitants is the second largest city in the country after Delhi. It is even bigger than Kolkata and Chennai. Mumbai is the capital of the state of Maharashtra. Located on the west coast of the Arabian Sea the city has more than 50 percent of India’s cargo go through the harbor, making it the busiest and largest harbor city of the Indian subcontinent—an overnight stay in Mumbai. Day 2 Mumbai
After breakfast proceeds for a sightseeing tour of Mumbai covering the Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Hanging Gardens on the slopes of Malabar Hills offering a nice view of Marine Lines & Chowpatty Beach, Kamla Nehru Park, Mani Bhawan (where Mahatma Gandhi used to stay) and then to Dhobi Ghat. Also visit Afgan Church, Flora Fountain (Bombay nerve center), and Colorful Crawford Market—an overnight stay in Mumbai.
Day 4 Goa
The exquisite churches from the Portuguese era with their remarkable architecture and mysterious history make the city truly exhilarating. Goa’s splendid coastline extends over 100 kilometers, and some of the world’s most charming beaches are located here. If time permits, Churches of astounding historical importance could squeeze in.
Today in the morning after breakfast, you will visit the slopes of Altinho Hill for a breathtaking view of Panjim and river Mandovi. Then, you will visit Dona-Paula for a view of India’s largest natural harbour-Mormugao. Afterward, visit old Goa and visit the Basilica of Bon Jesus which contains the tomb & mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier housed in a silver ornate casket, St. Cathedral- the biggest Church in the East, St. Cajetan- built like St. Peter (Rome), Church of our Lady Rosary and St. Monica. Day 5 Goa
The day is at leisure. Laze on the beach, go for a swim and explore shops for cashew nuts. An overnight stay in Goa.
Day 6 Drive from Goa via Belgaum to Badami (275 km 6 hours)
After breakfast, you will drive to Badami en route visiting Belgaum. Belgaum is a city of contrasts. On one side is the old town area and the modern on the other, in the heart of Belgaum is the Fort. Inside it are the most famous Kamala Basti, the Jain Temple & the Jama Masjid. You will also visit the Kapileshwar Temple and the Ananthashayana. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Day 7 Badami
After breakfast, you will visit Rock-cut Cave Temples, Gateways, Forts, Inscriptions, and sculptures that seem to come alive before your eyes. Badami has to be seen to be believed. Climb a flight of steps to reach the ancient caves – all hewn out of sandstone on the precipice of a hill. Also, a must-see are Bhutanatha temples that lend their names to the lake just beneath the cave temples. Take a dip in this green tranquil river. It is said to have healing properties. Badami also has eighteen inscriptions ranging from the 06th to the 09th century. An overnight stay in Badami.
Day 8 Drive from Badami via Aihole and Pattadakal to Hospet
After breakfast, you will drive to Hospet en-route to visit Aihole and Pattadakal. Aihole is famous as the “cradle of Indian Architecture”. Also visit Pattadakal situated on the left bank of the Malaprabha River, a world heritage center, that has 10 major temples representing early Chalukyan architecture, and later continue towards Hospet. Day 9 Hospet
After breakfast, you will explore the beautiful world of Hospet. The touristic importance of this lies in its proximity to Hampi, the site of the Medieval Vijaynagar Empire, (13 km) is the most evocative of all the ruins in Karnataka. An overnight stay Hospet.
Day 10 Drive from Hospet to Hassan
After breakfast, you will drive to Hassan. Later, you will visit Belur & Halebid, a beautiful example of Hoysala architecture. Famous of them is the Chennakesava Temple took 103 years to complete. Day 11 Drive from Hassan to Shravanbelagola and return to Hassan
After breakfast, you will drive to Shravanbelgola. It is one of the most important Jain Pilgrim centers. Here is the 17m high monolith of Lord Bahubali – the world’s tallest monolithic statue. Rest of the day you will remain free to explore the surroundings. An overnight stay Hassan.
Day 12 Drive from Hassan to Madikeri
After breakfast, you will drive to Madikeri, a place which is called the “Scotland of India”. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Later, visit Madikeri Fort, Abbey Falls, and Nisargadhama – Known for its calm, serene beauty, this place is an ideal picnic spot visited by hundreds of tourists throughout the year. Day 13 Drive from Madikeri to Mysore
After breakfast, you will drive to Mysore. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Later you will visit the Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hills – Towering over the city, these hills are 13 km away from Mysore. Halfway up is the Nandi bull, a 4.8m monolith and you will also visit Brindavan Gardens. The musical fountains & colorful lights transform this place into a fairyland. An overnight stay in Mysore.
Day 14 Mysore
After breakfast, you will visit Sri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery – Housed in the Jag Mohan Palace, the gallery has a collection of exquisite paintings. In the afternoon visit Somnathpur. It is a little village where you can see the famous 13th-century temple well known for its great architectural beauty. Day 15 Drive from Mysore via Srirangapatnam to Bangalore
After breakfast, you will drive to Bangalore en route to visit Srirangapatnam, the capital of the warrior – King Hyder Ali & his son Tipu Sultan, which has magnificent monuments that are well worth a visit. Continue driving to Bangalore and transfer to the airport for onward flight.
