Rajasthan Royal Maharajas Tour

Day 1 Arrival in Delhi

You will arrive at the Delhi International Airport. Delhi is India’s national capital and the second-largest metropolis after Mumbai. Delhi has been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BC. Throughout most of its history, Delhi has served as the capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, ransacked, and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period, and modern Delhi is a cluster of several cities spread across the metropolitan region. Day 2 Delhi

Today after breakfast, you will explore the old and new city of Delhi. You’ll be mesmerized by the 100-feet, red-stone boundary walls of Red Fort built during the 17th century. Opposite to this ancient structure is Jama Masjid (Mosque), built in 1656 AD, construction of red sandstone and white marble. It is the largest mosque in India where 20,000 people can pray together at a time. You will also tour the city in a Rickshaw. Along the streets of old Delhi, you will see the Raj Ghat, and Mahatma Gandhi (Father of the Nation) Memorial, which is close to the river Yamuna. Next, you will visit Humayun’s Tomb, the tomb of the second Mughal emperor, which was built by his wife during the 16th century, and then you will visit Qutub Minar, a 220-feet tower made by one of the first Muslim leaders in India, built between 1199 and 1368 AD. It runs counter to Rashtrapati Bhawan, the residence of the President of India. There you’ll also see the Government Buildings and Parliament. An overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 3 Drive from Delhi to Jaipur

Today after breakfast, you will drive to Jaipur. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Later visit the majestic Amber Fort, is one that cannot be easily described. Ride up on Elephants to the former capital of the royals set against the backdrop of the wooded hills. Also visit the Palace of Winds also known as Hawa Mahal, this elaborate building, now little more than a façade, is encrusted with delicate screens and carved balconies from which the royal ladies, confined to their quarters, could sneak views of the outside world. Past, present, and future merge at Jai Singh’s observatory, where time has been accurately measured since the 17th century, and City Palace, still home to the Maharaja although several of the rooms are now open to the public. Day 4 Drive from Jaipur to Pushkar

Today after breakfast, you will drive to Pushkar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. In Pushkar, you will visit Brahma temple (said to be one of the few temples in the world dedicated to this deity) Pushkar Lake, Man Mahal, and Savitri temple. Also, you will visit the famous Dargah Shariff, Shah Jahan’s mosque, and Taragarh fort at Ajmer. An overnight stay in Pushkar.

Day 5 Drive from Pushkar to Udaipur

Today after breakfast, you will drive to Udaipur. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Arrive at Udaipur and transfer to the hotel. An overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 6 Udaipur

Today after breakfast, you will explore Udaipur which lies in the Girwa valley in the middle of the Aravali hill and is described as a romantic city with its lakes, gardens, temple, and palaces.
Then in the afternoon, you will visit Monsoon Palace also known as Sajjan Garh Palace the summer resort of the Maharajas is atop the hill overlooking all of the lakes. This palace had a way to collect rainwater for consumption all year around. Thereafter you will visit Sahelion ki Bari was laid for a group of forty-eight young women attendants who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as part of her dowry. The gardens set below the embankment of the Fatah Sagar Lake have lotus pools, marble pavilions, and elephant-shaped fountains. Day 7 Drive from Udaipur to Jodhpur

After breakfast, you will drive to Jodhpur. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Evening is at leisure. An overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Day 8 Jodhpur

After breakfast, you will do the city sightseeing. Jodhpur, a stronghold of the fierce Rathore clan, was founded in 1459 by Prince Jodha. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone hill. Within the fort, visit Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal. Also, you will visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble cenotaph, built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II around 1899, and Umaid Public Gardens. An overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Day 9 Drive from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer

Day 10 Jaisalmer

After breakfast, you will proceed for Camel safari. An overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

Day 11 Drive from Jaisalmer to Bikaner

Morning drive to Bikaner (330 km) & transfer to hotel. Evening at leisure. An overnight stay in Bikaner.

Day 12 Bikaner

After breakfast, you will visit the Junagarh Fort, constructed between 1588 and 1593 by Raja Jai Singh, a general in the Mughul Emperor Akbar’s army, and the Karnimata Temple at Deshnok. Also, visit the prestigious camel breeding farm in the evening. An overnight stay in Bikaner.

Day 13 Drive from Bikaner to Gajner

After breakfast, you will drive to Gajner. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Later, you will have a full day sightseeing at Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary and Fort. An overnight stay in Gajner. Rajasthan Royal Maharajas Tour

Day 14 Drive from Gajner to Mandawa

After breakfast, you will drive to Mandawa. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Afternoon, you will walk through the painted ‘havelis’ of some of the leading business families in the country. Chowkhani Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli, Lakshmi narayan Ladia Haveli, Mohahanlal Saraf Haveli and Bhag chandika Haveli are of special interest. Spend the entire day looking into frescoes. An overnight stay in Mandawa.

Day 15 Drive from Jaipur to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri

After breakfast drive to Agra, home to the Taj Mahal. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted “ghost” capital of the Emperor Akbar with its beautifully preserved forts, palaces, and mosques. Upon arrival in Agra, you will be transferred to your hotel. An overnight stay in Agra.

Day 16 Drive from Agra to Delhi for departure

At sunrise, you will visit the world-famous Taj Mahal (built from 1631-1653 A.D). A poem in white marble it was built by Mughal ruler Shah Jahan for his deceased wife Mumtaz Mahal. Its extravagant architecture reveals its secret of being one of the Seven Wonders of the World. 20,000 workers with experts from Italy, France, Iran, and Asia were busied for 22 years with the monument. Return to hotel for breakfast.
Later drive to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport for onward journey.
