Conveniently book online tickets of Monuments
Tourists now will be able to book online tickets of the monuments in the country. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with two private entities, i.e., Yatra and Book my show, to make the online booking process smooth. Visitors will now be able to easily log in to these sites and conveniently book tickets for 141 historical sites, monuments and museums in India, including Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Ajanta and Ellora caves and the Sun Temple. This step will bring more democracy in the sale of the monument tickets. As of now the online tickets were available only on Archaeological Survey of India website. This facility will help all those tourists who organize their tour without the travel agency. The most important thing to keep in mind while booking the online tickets is the time slot. The Archaeological Survey of India has decided that the entry ticket to the world heritage monument would be valid for only three hours. The ticket will be valid only for 03 hours just like movie ticket. The move was necessitated by the surge in the number of visitors Early this year government also decided to allow only 40,000 Indian tourists will be allowed to visit the Taj Mahal per day, but there will be no daily limit on the number of foreign tourists.
As per the new timings the ticket window will open 60 minutes before the sunrise and the main entrance of the Taj Mahal will open 30 minutes before the sunrise. This new timings will enable the tourists to enjoy the Taj Mahal at the first light of the sun. At the same time, the ticket window will close 45 minutes before the sunset and the main entrance of the Taj Mahal 30 minutes before the sunset. Conveniently book online tickets of Monuments
