President of Myanmar visited Taj Mahal
Myanmar President and his wife visited the Taj Mahal on Saturday shortly after US President Donald Trump, his wife Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump had visited the monument of love in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
While Myanmar President U Win Myint and his wife Daw Cho Cho enjoyed their extended schedule at the Taj Mahal. The couple was received at the Kheria airbase by Uttar Pradesh minister Neelkanth Tiwari. They praised the monument’s architecture,they posed at the iconic bench inside the 17th-century mausoleum. The people of Agra had to face several restrictions on their movement while the Myanmar President was in town.
The Taj Mahal remained closed for all other visitors from 12 to 2 pm, resulting in the cancellation of the Taj visits of numerous tourists, both domestic and foreign, since Myint’s visit was not advertised in advance and no travel agencies were aware of the Taj Mahal closure beforehand.
Myanmar President is on a four-day visit to India, and arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday. Earlier on Thursday, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House in Delhi and discussed a wide range of bilateral issues.
The Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World which is considered as the most photogenic destinations of India. It is one of the most exquisite structures ever built by any emperor. It was constructed by the fifth Mughal emperor in the fond memory of his favorite wife Mumtaj Mahal. The Taj Mahal in terms of architecture, is one of the most symmetrical structures in the world, constructed using pure white marble and adorned with precious and semi precious stones. The construction started in 1631 and got completed in 1653 AD; 20,000 workers worked day and night together for 22 years.
